As a working mom, I simply don’t have the time to work my butt off in the gym every day. If you are anything like me, you don’t have either. I discovered that time doesn’t have to be an obstacle when it comes to your health. Here are 5 easy things you can do to live a healthy life, and it won’t even cost an extra minute of your time!

Take the stairs!

Move over, escalator! Just consider this for a minute: if you take the stairs while you travel, at work, or even at the mall, it really adds up! Taking the stairs can have a powerful impact on your health. Think of it as exercise without going to the gym.

Go outside

If you’re lucky enough to have kids, take them outside for a walk around the neighborhood. Take a ball with you and challenge your kids to a game of catch.

Turn your house into your personal Whole Foods store!

Make it easy for yourself to choose the healthy options. Give fruit and veggies a visible, easy-to-see place on your table and kitchen counter. It will be the first thing you see when you are on the hunt for a snack.

Eat healthy snacks

If you are a snacker, try to go for healthy options. Leave the chips and pastries. Instead, nibble on fruits and vegetables. Other healthy snacks are raw nuts, dark chocolate, and dried fruit.

Drink water

I bet you’ve heard this one before. Like, one thousand times? I’m going to say it again: keeping hydrated is super important! Tired of the same old water? Add a slice of lemon and some fresh mint to create your own flavored water.
